Solar PV and batteries for apartment buildings
The roof of an apartment building is large and the shared consumption is steady: lift, corridor lighting, pumps, garages. PV with a battery covers it and surplus can go to the flats. The hardest part is not the technology but a clear document for the owners.
What a battery does in an apartment building
The building's shared consumption runs in the evening and at night too: lighting, lift, ventilation, pumps, garage doors. The battery shifts electricity from midday production exactly there. In buildings that share energy to flats, it also increases the share of electricity the owners use themselves instead of the surplus flowing to the grid at a low price.
Energy sharing to flats
Electricity from the building's PV can be shared to individual flats. Sharing is registered with the Czech electricity data centre (EDC), each flat keeps its own meter and supplier, and the shared electricity is deducted on its bill. We follow the sharing rules and their changes and help with EDC registration.

Documents for the owners' meeting
A shared investment is decided by the owners' meeting. We prepare a document that an owner without a technical background understands:
- PV output and battery capacity designed from the building's consumption data
- what the common areas cover and what can go to the flats
- itemised budget and financing and subsidy options
- implementation steps, fire safety and maintenance
The technical minimum for buildings
Roof statics and panel anchoring, cable routes through the building, battery location away from escape routes and in line with the fire safety design, service access and grid connection. In panel buildings it often helps to combine PV and a battery with a planned roof or wiring renovation.

Do all owners have to agree?
The owners' meeting decides according to the association's articles and the law. For sharing to flats, each flat then joins individually. We prepare the documents for the vote.
Where will the battery be located in the building?
Away from protected escape routes, typically in a utility room, basement or a separate cabinet. The location is designed together with the fire safety concept.
Do you work with housing cooperatives?
Yes, the process is similar. The cooperative's body decides according to its articles, the technical solution is the same.
